You See The Hat?

So tonight I went to the library to get a giant stack of books to get started on the research part of my Master’s thesis. Most of the books are about film/tv theory and criticism along with digital media types of things, you know, if you were curious.

When I went to check them all out, the older lady at the circulation desk, bless her heart, got really excited after seeing the title of one of my books.

(Now I would just like to point out that this particular book is at least 2 inches thick.)

So when the lady saw the title of said book, “Hop on Pop” she says, “OH! Hop on Pop, Dr. Seuss! That’s fun.” 

Ummm…

Clearly she was thinking of this:

Which as you can tell from the picture is “The Simplest Seuss for Youngest Use” and in no way on earth is it 2 inches thick with a plain black cover.

If only I were actually reading Dr. Seuss for my Master’s thesis. Indeed, older lady at the circulation desk, that would be fun. Unfortunately, that is totally not the same book, and this one is about the politics of pop culture.
